yesterday i went to jodha akbar here in canberra.i have to say wow such a rich picturisation and every moment is so full of emotions.i loved it especially for the rich ness in costumes and jewellery of Aishwarya.it was a feast to the eyes,of late i felt aishwarya is really not looking beautiful, but in this movie she looks more beautiful than ever.hrithik looked as if no one suits better than him for that role, though i felt Aishwarya looked a little too old for him,but never mind.he acted very well as usual.the romance between jodha akbar was so touchy that the memories of the movie didn’t leave me for hours after watching it.the only minus is it was too long, they would have edited it a bit more to make it perfect.ashutosh has proved himself once again.jodha akbar is a master piece.every costume of Aishwarya makes you astonished for a moment, the rich work on the lehengas and dupattas will take you in to the kings and queen times of india.the sword fight by aishwarya was really funny, she fights as if she is doing kathak or bharathnatyam.the fight between the jodha akbar was good to watch. The silent love between jodha and akbar is the land mark of the movie.the music of A.R. Rehman is so excellent and exactly going with the flow of the movie.its a movie that will be remembered for its richness in picturisation, and sensitive subject matter i.e lovestory of a muslim and hindu.i loved the movie to the core.Iam going to buy the DVD as soon as it is released in to the market.overall worth watching.

“krishna” movie

yesterday i watched “krishna” telugu movie starring raviteja and trisha.the movie was OK overall.songs were too noisy and not at all enjoyable.story was just dumb to say the least.the only saving grace for the movie was jokes.i think if this movie becomes a hit that is just because of the jokes.raviteja looked old for the hero role.and he was just routine in his acting with his mass dialogues and accent.trisha looked ugly with different kind of makeup.she looked tan, dont know weather it is intentional or natural.the villain looked young and more handsome compared to the hero.i think he is mukuldev, rahul dev’s brother.the song at the climax was test to the patience.few scenes were really illogical, like when raviteja comes back after he has beaten to death and buried in the ground by villain.this kind of scenes off-course we can expect from v.v.vinayak. sudha and chandramohan just routine in their roles of acting as a scolding brother and pampering sister in law.its an easily forgettable movie and there are no emotional or touching scenes.but we can watch this movie secondtime for the jokes.overall the movie is just OK.my rating for the movie would be 5 on a 10 scale.
bathukamma a telangana festival
Batukammais a spring festival celebrated by women in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. This festival usually is in the months of September/October (Aswiyuja), concludes two days before Dussera on durgashtami.
The name Batukamma is given to a flower mound, arranged with different flowers usually in seven concentric layers of potter’s clay like a cone.
Batuku means live, and Amma means mother, hence Batukamma. Batukamma celebrates the glory of Gauri goddess (meaning fair or white) – the patron Goddess of womanhood. This festival is an all-woman affair. Women celebrate this festival dressed-up traditionally in silk sarees, wear Jewelery and girls in a two-piece saree called as Langa oni, and participate with great fervour.
In the evenings, women gather different kinds of unique seasonal flowers, some coloured, some scented and arrange them on a wide plate called as tambalamu, in the shape of a conical mound.
Women then gather in large numbers along with their batukammas in their locality, place them in the middle and dance around them, synchronizing steps and claps in unison, and singing soul stirring batukamma folk songs.
After the singing and dancing, batukammalu are set afloat in a lake or river.
This festival goes on for seven days and concludes on Durgastami, the main festival day is called Saddula Batukamma. On this day they celebrate into wee hours and later go to a nearby village lake to set their Batukamma afloat. Lakes with floating batukammas in the evenings is a treat to the eyes.
the above details are taken from wikipedia.coming to my memories of this festival , it goes back to my childhood days,i enjoyed participating in this festival like any other girl of telangana region.i observed that the songs sung by elderly, middle aged married woman are not just about the ritual, but they had so much meaning in it.the songs are more of the stories of a common woman, her dreams as a girl, her responsibilities and plights as daughter-in-law and as wife once she is married.and sometimes just describing the beauty of nature.
its really rejoicing to participate in this festival forgetting all the nonsense that is going on in the world, away from the busy routine, forgetting all our sorrows for a moment.

few quotes
i want to start my writing with few of my fav quotes:All knowledge that the world has ever received comes from the mind; the infinite library of the universe is in our own mind.few sentences taken from here and there which have great meaning.
satyameva jayathe —– the truth is going to win ultimately.
sarvejana sukhinobhavanthu————all the people of the universe should be in peace.
vasudaika kutumbam———the total earth is one family
dharmo rakshati rakshitaha———–you save the law and the law in turn will save you.
and the below words are chanted every time when we finish our pooja at my grandfather’s place.
dharm ki jai ho
adharm ka nash ho
praniyo mein sadbhavna ho
vishw ka kalyan ho
translation
truth(law) should prevail
evil should be destroyed
all should have goodthoughts; and as a result
universe should flourish.
i really feel proud that my grandparents and parents have taught us the basics of life through this just 4 lines.
